From Employee To Entrepreneur

Recently spotted on ‘Flee The Cube’ is a mind tickler of a post that helps to re-assert a few thoughts that many of us start out with and go on to forget about as we grind into the ground, especially when starting a new online business;

Entrepreneurship is less about thought and more about action. Ideas are great, but they’re only ideas until someone does something about them. The real art, it seems to me, is in the execution. And the only way to learn to execute well is to do so, over and over. Experience (and failure) are precursors to success, so I need to get out there and make some major boneheaded mistakes.

You would be wise to head to the site and read the post titled ‘A Little More Action‘ as it is a refreshingly high quality post in an otherwise diluted community of repetative ramblings. As usual, this was spotted via the NetDosh.com Feeder system that is there for the community to use.

Does this post give you any fresh thoughts about your own projects and the way you are approaching the online money making systems?

Yes it does actually. I think we’ve all fallen into the trap about thinking too much and not firing it up instead. I’m in “Getting Things Done” mode right now and trying to get things done even faster and faster. Especially with things like content websites. It’s better to get something decent up immediately as you will have to keep adding better and better things to it over time anyways. I have a few projects that I’ve just been sitting on and it hurts when I think how far ahead I could be at this time with them.

I’m trying something new too. I recently read about “single-tasking” which is the funny idea that when you sit down to do a project, you don’t get up until it’s finished, except for food, breaks, and sleep. Now, that’s a little extreme for me, but I see how concentrating on just one project can lead to much more productivity than multi-tasking, or juggling 10 projects a day. It gives you focus, and so far it seems to be working for me :)

We really like the sound of that multi-tasking vs non-multi tasking idea. Feel free to go post it in the forums at brighton vibes, I am sure they would love to eat information like that up over there :)

Have you tried it yourself at all? Anyone?
